We are looking for talented Editor / Motion Graphics Designers who can transform interview footage and narrative scripts into powerful visual stories and fluid, highly kinetic motion graphic pieces for screens of all sizes—from large-scale events to websites to mobile devices.
You'll be responsible for: Editing video and film material using Final Cut Pro and other editing/motion graphics software; executing in-house dubs, compression, DVD burning, CD burning, dubouts, scratch track audio recording, audio mixing as needed; and providing client-ready deliverables in appropriate media formats. You must possess considerable creative ability and a solid grasp of artful storytelling, regardless of the subject matter.
Requirments
• Conceptualize, design, and craft motion graphics solutions for clients;
• Translate others' concepts and existing client information into visually compelling videos under tight deadlines;
• Be creative working within corporate client style guides, templates and existing campaigns.
• Superior Final Cut skills, as well as After Effects and sound design understanding;
• Story-telling aptitude to make footage come alive in the editing room;
• Technical vision to consult with writers and directors prior to shoots to ensure the right emotion and angles are captured;
• Ability to balance multiple projects that could be done independently, or as part of a team.
Pikkles designers are responsible for creative vision, user experience, visual and motion design, and asset production. Our designers are versatile and multi-faceted. An understanding of web technologies and grasp of the tools is expected of all designers. We also encourage each designer to nurture their particular interests, whether it be motion, typography, storytelling or usability.
The Designer’s job is to contribute all sorts of design and production support to the team.
- Inspire and collaborate your co-workers to produce inventive, thoughtful, relevant work for clients
- Work closely with your team to execute on the creative strategy for projects by creating viable design schemes
- Support all aspects of design and production for your team’s projects, focusing on innovation and quality
- Understand and work within project parameters: client goals and requirements, internal goals, usability, technical constraints, as well as budget and schedule
- Experiment with new tools and techniques to improve our work
- Cultivate an understanding of industry trends and share your insights with the studio
Requirments
- 2+ years of experience designing rich interactive experiences for the web
- Present a portfolio that represents a range of design styles as well as a clear personal aesthetic
- Experience working on small to medium-sized teams
- An ability to be patient and focused under tight deadlines
- Proficiency with Photoshop, Illustrator and Flash
- Proficiency with After Effects is a bonus
- Have strong personal organization skills and attention to detail
Programmers support Lead Programmer on project development. They are able to independently research and complete development tasks assigned to them. They are also able to lead small-scale development projects.
- Responsible for programming and asset production
- Research and share industry innovations and trends
- Participate in early stages of project design/brainstorming (including pitches and proposal responses)
- Work with Lead Programmer to identify and address project status issues
- Identify opportunities to improve our methodology

- Possess 2+ years development experience with client-side web technologies such as Flash, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and Ajax
- Approach technical challenges with an open mind and desire to innovate
- Are comfortable working with a variety of code libraries and programming styles

- Are communicative, patient, and clear under tight deadlines
Lead Flash Developer leads project development at Pikkles and responsible for planning and implementing the code that drives our projects and collaborating with other developers and vendors to execute on larger projects.
- Provide technical planning, development, and systems integration on client engagements from definition phase through implementation
- Facilitate communication of technical matters among internal team as well as external partners and client contacts
- Write code and assist with asset production
- Delegate programming tasks to other team members, providing oversight as needed
- Participate in early stages of concept development and brainstorming
- Mentor developers by sharing new tools and techniques
- Research and share industry innovations and trends
Requirments
- Have 5+ years development experience
- Deep expertise and experience with client-side web technologies focusing on Flash and experience with HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and Ajax is a plus
- Prefer experience with server technologies such as: PHP, MySQL and CMS software
- Have experience with task planning and estimating effort
- Approach technical challenges with an open mind and desire to innovate
- Are comfortable working with a variety of code libraries and programming styles
- Appreciate great design and thrive in a creative environment
- Have experience working on small to medium?sized teams

We are seeking college students or grads looking for experience in marketing and PR. Must be Japanese or Japan resident with native-level Japanese speaking ability. No exceptions. Can turn into full time position depending on performance.
